£130.00

An idea that percolated for many months. From the Oscar Wilde quote ‘‘…we are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars…’’, also used in a Pretenders song from long past. I wanted moody, dark hues, to practice perspective and to play with the effects of light from streetlamps. It was sketched out for over 18mths and then covid came along, the mood felt right and I added a nod to that bleak and sad time in the finished painting.
